Allow Eligible Iranian Healthcare Professionals to Continue Taking the OET Outside Iran

We are a group of Iranian healthcare professionals and OET candidates respectfully asking OET to maintain a practical pathway for eligible Iranian candidates to continue taking the OET outside Iran, while fully complying with all applicable OET policies and requirements.

Many of us have invested significant time, effort, and financial resources in preparing for the OET. For healthcare professionals, the examination is an important step toward professional registration, employment, education, and career development internationally.

We understand and respect OET’s responsibility to comply with its policies, regulatory obligations, and applicable requirements. We are not asking for an exemption from these requirements.

Many candidates currently residing in Iran have previously travelled to neighbouring countries, including Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates and Oman, to take the examination. At the same time, many Iranian healthcare professionals currently living outside Iran are preparing for the OET as part of their professional journey.

We are willing to comply fully with OET’s requirements. Where applicable, we are also prepared to make payments using a valid bank card issued outside Iran, in accordance with OET’s payment policies and requirements.

We respectfully ask OET to:

Continue to allow eligible Iranian candidates to take the OET outside Iran where testing is available.
Allow candidates to take OET on Computer or paper-based OET where those formats are available.
Provide clear guidance and, where possible, options for candidates whose existing bookings have been placed on hold, including rescheduling or transferring their bookings.
We sincerely appreciate OET’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and compliance of its examination system. We respectfully ask that the circumstances of Iranian healthcare professionals be taken into consideration and that a fair and practical pathway remain available to those who meet OET’s requirements.
