Friends, Thanks for being part of the wave of support for bringing 3-year-old Daksh Sood to Canada to live with his parents. Over 6,000 people have signed in one week, and we would like to keep up the momentum and gather thousands more. To do so, we ask you to take two modest additional actions: 1. Post the following on your facebook page: Imagine that your 3-year-old child is banned from entering Canada. This nightmare for Ottawa permanent residents Bhavna Bajaj and Aman Sood has been going on for two years. In less than a week, though, more than 6,000 people have signed and shared amongst their friends a support petition to bring Bhavna and Aman’s 3-year-old son Daksh to Ottawa. I signed it, and you can too: https://www.change.org/p/citizenship-and-immigration-minister-chris-alexander-allow-3-year-old-daksh-to-live-in-canada-with-his-parents?just_created=true 2. Selfies for Daksh Sood (Maybe do this three or four days after the facebook posting) If you have children of any age, why not take a picture of yourself with them holding the following sign: Kids Need Their Parents Bring Daksh Sood to Canada 1. Post this picture on your own facebook page with a link to the petition (see above), encouraging friends to do the same (if you cannot do the sign, maybe post the picture of you and your kids with the text of the sign underneath it). 2. Email your "Selfie for Daksh Sood" picture to Immigration Minister Chris Alexander (Minister@cic.gc.ca, Chris.Alexander@parl.gc.ca) and Prime Minister Stephen Harper (stephen.harper@parl.gc.ca), and blind copy the Rural Refugee Rights Network (tasc@web.ca). Cut and paste the text of the petition that you signed at https://www.change.org/p/citizenship-and-immigration-minister-chris-alexander-allow-3-year-old-daksh-to-live-in-canada-with-his-parents?just_created=true and add your names at the bottom, along with additional comments you feel moved to include (please be polite in your comments, as they all reflect on the family!) 3. In Subject Line of your email, mention something about supporting Daksh Sood, your city, etc. (i.e. I'm in Toronto and support Daksh Sood, Kids Need Their Parents!, or Kids Need Their Parents: Bring Daksh Sood to Canada) If you have any questions about what else you can do, please contact me at tasc@web.ca Thanks!
