With 2 aging stadiums in workington which are home to workington town and workington reds keeping the town in the past. We were promised a new stadium by the council but now the conservative council are not making a decision. We were granted rugby league world cup games for 2021 which would build on the success of 2013. Both clubs are spending a lot of money to get both stadiums up to health and safety standards but it is simply not viable.
