Mega Lunch has been a part of Canyon High School for quite some time now. Students, Parents and Staff have
learned how to use Mega Lunch and appreciate what it is. Due to some unfortunate fights at lunch and trash
being left around the school, Alison Smith and the Staff of Canyon High School have since taken it away.If that's the
truth behind it anyway. All I hear is excuses, excuses and more excuses. I am writing this today to petition these changes.
I do not think it is right and I am here to stand my ground and assert my strong opinion on this ongoing issue.
I am not only doing this for myself, but for CHS as a whole.
The majority (75%+) of the students use this time to go to classes and take tests, makeup tests, do homework,
and to get help on something they do not understand, as well as go to clubs. Before Alison Smith and the new
staff got hired at CHS, Mega Lunch was exactly what it was meant to be and we were not threatened with it.
Since the changes of hiring we have been threatened with "Mega Lunch being taken away" since the start of the year.
Finally they did so and now we are on a 3 block lunch schedule, a b & c which are 25 minutes each. First of all
25 minutes to eat lunch and no bell time, meaning we really only have about 15 minutes to actually sit and eat.
Are you kidding me?? Second thing is we are only going to have one 25 minute
block of tutorials compared to an hour where we could skip lunch and take a test for the whole hour. Ask yourself this,
how do you take a test in 25 minutes? Jokes on you. If they actually think 25 minutes is enough of tutorial time, that's
absurd and we need to show them that.

Why are they trying to change something that does not need to be changed in the first place?
If they gave more than 2 days of ISS for a fight then nobody would do it. Its a "0 tolerance policy for fighting
and yet all they give them is 2 days of ISS." How about being kicked out of school for starters?

IF WE WANT MEGA LUNCH BACK WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN BUT,

WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AS A WHOLE AND SHOW THE CHS ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF THAT OUR OPINION MATTERS AND WE WILL
NOT BE SILENT!!!!!!
