Keep the infant feeding coordinator at RCH Treliske. (Helen Shanahan and Stephanie Heard.)

The Issue

For over 10 years the infant feeding team at Royal Cornwall Hospital have worked to bring the values of Baby friendly to our county. They have formed and shaped the Counties infant feeding services through joined up thinking, action and excellent training from nothing to one that is envied by many areas in the UK.

The post of the infant feeding leads in Cornwall is up for review. This might mean that Helen Shanahan and Stephanie Heard's posts and therefore all of the excellent work around breasteeding in the country will not be supported.

We would like RCH to recognise the importance of this role and maintain the excellent work that has been started by these individuals.

Many families have been supported in countless ways by the hard work and dedication of the team at Treliske and to see this disappear would mean a huge step back as a county.
