Union County, New Jersey, is currently conducting a "hunt" in several parks across the County.  We are asking the County to cancel the "hunt" in NOMAHEGAN PARK, CRANFORD.  We do not believe these annual "hunts" are effective in controlling the deer population.  We do not believe it is appropriate to prevent citizens from using the park on the days the "hunts" are being conducted.  It would be more effective to create a SPAY PROGRAM which would prevent the existing population from reproducing.  The cost of this is probably equal to or less than what the taxpayers are now paying the several police officers that are parked at the entrance of the park to keep people from going into the park.
