Dear Supporter,
If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just trying to eat less meat, you know how wonderful it is that our favorite grocery stores are carrying more and more meatless products – including Aldi!
But vegans care deeply about animal welfare. While Aldi might be branded as “vegan friendly”, we can’t let this get them off the hook for not committing to eliminate cruel gestation crates from its supply chain.
Please let Aldi know that it can’t hide behind its vegan friendly accolades. If Aldi really cares about animal welfare, it would commit to getting rid of gestation crates once and for all.
CALL ALDI customer service at (800) 325-7894 (option #4), Mon–Fri 9am–5pm EST.
Tell them:
- All the vegan products you carry are great … but
- One of the reason I buy vegan food is because I care about animal welfare
- Carrying vegan products is no excuse for not committing to ban gestation crates in your supply chain
- Please REQUIRE YOUR SUPPLIERS to commit to ending the use of gestation crates according to a public timeframe
Note: Aldi will probably tell you that it doesn’t farm its own animals. Tell them you know this, and that’s why you are asking them to require their suppliers to get rid of crates.
Thank you … and please post the responses you get from Aldi in the discussion section below.
