Katie Moran started this petition to aldi and

Plastic, made from fossil fuels, has been used in supermarkets now for as long as I can remember, encasing fruit and veg, breads, pastries and one-use plastic bags and plastic bottles. These plastics after their one use last a long, long time and take hundreds or even thousands of years to biodegrade. They have this time to pollute the environment, and as seen recently in many news articles, pollute the oceans where they are killing many innocent animals.

It's very important to me that we cut down on plastic in our stores. With so little of our plastic being recycled it is vital to drastically reduce the use of single use plastic, and I think we can make a huge difference by ridding supermarkets around the country from plastics. For the sake of our world, future generations and other living creatures we share this world with we need to make a change as soon as possible.

This is why I am urging; to all Supermarkets, please cut down on plastic!
