Shut down Pocket Puppies for flouting Chicago's anti-puppy mill law.

Shut down Pocket Puppies for flouting Chicago's anti-puppy mill law.
The Issue
Chicago passed an anti-puppy mill ordinance in March 2014, intended to limit sales from puppy mills by requiring that dogs come from "shelters and other humane adoption centers." It passed the City Council in March 2014 and was originally intended to take effect a year later. It survived a court challenge and took effect in 2015.
However, three pet stores are still selling puppies illegally by 'so-called rescues' that are closely linked to longtime commercial puppy mill dealers.
Please sign this petition and share widely to encourage Chicago's officials to revoke the license of Pocket Puppies and shut down this shady shop that is clearly in bed with puppy mills and unscrupulous breeders who profit off of continually impregnating dogs.
In case you don't know: A puppy mill is an inhumane high-volume dog breeding facility that churns out puppies for profit, ignoring the needs of the pups and their mothers often keeping them in barren cages in the freezing winter and heat of summer. Dogs from puppy mills are often sick and unsocialized.
Thank you very much for signing and sharing and helping make Chicago a kinder City!
If you want to take 1 more quick and easy step to help us achieve this success even sooner, please send a short email to Chicago's Mayor, Alderwoman Michele Smith (the store is in her ward) and Business Affairs and Consumer Protection simply urging them to "Please shut down Pocket Puppies!" Please send to:
