Save The Weyland Building

Save The Weyland Building
The Issue
A developer has proposed demolishing the beautiful and intact Weyland Building, a three-story mixed-use building at 1968-70 N. Milwaukee to clear the way for a new, suburban-looking apartment building.
Designed by prominent architect John Ahlschlager in 1907, the building is largely intact and could be incorporated into the new development in a variety of ways that would not require its total demolition. Ahlschlager designed several buildings that are in the Logan Square Boulevards Landmark District as well as the Logan Theater and the famed Schulze Bakery on the South Side of Chicago.
The developer needs approval from the local alderman to proceed with their plans. Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno, please don't let them demolish this piece of Chicago's history.
