Climate Change Committee report

Last month the Climate Change Committee (CCC) published their report on the future of coastal protection in the UK. Led by Professor Jim Hall, one of the pre-eminent experts on Climate Change, the report describes the futility of 'hold the line' sea defences and illustrate the need for managed retreat in the face of inevitable rising sea levels in the near future. This perspective entirely undermines the rigid view of the AOEP and their bias towards the protection of their stakeholders' agricultural assets. Hold the line policy is, according to the CCC, unjustifiably expensive and technically flawed.
