Sam Neale, a sophomore at Eldorado High School has a 4.0 GPA, and works tremendously hard in school. In March of 2019, he was diagnosed with lymphoma b-cell, directly targeting his immune system. Doctors said he could no longer attend classes. Sam’s friends brought his homework to him for weeks as he tried to maintain his GPA while battling cancer. But evidentially, his grades dropped. Coming up on finals, Eldorado High School has informed Sam that he will not pass his classes if he does not attend school to take his finals. When asked if he could take the finals at home, Eldorado refused to comply. When we asked the doctors if he could attend his finals, the doctors said that it would be life threatening and that he absolutely cannot attend. When we asked the APS support line for students with long term illness, they basically told us that we are screwed and there’s nothing we can do. Please sign this petition to draw attention to this issue to help Sam keep the GPA he worked so hard for, and graduate on time in 2021 after he has completed his chemotherapy.
