We need your help now more than ever! Right now is the most critical time to stop another planned open pit mine coal project!
Email generator links below!
Good morning everyone! We need your urgent help in stopping another coal project from going ahead in our Rocky Mountains!
As you all know, our main efforts have been aimed at combatting the Grassy Mountain Coal Mine, which was supposed to be the first project to be built. However, we have received news that the Tent Mountain Mine is closer to being allowed to be built, due to the lack of federal oversight!
Several First Nations, including the Kainai and the Siksika, have asked the federal government to conduct an environmental assessment of the product. If this is done, we can get this project to be delayed and eventually outright cancelled!
What we need you to do is to send an email using an email generator created by LeadNow, another organization fighting to stop mines from appearing on our mountains. If we get enough messages supporting the First Nations to Jonathan Wilkinson (Minister of the Environment), we can trigger a federal assessment and protect our mountains!
As such, please send an email using this link: https://act.leadnow.ca/tent-impact/?utm_source=leadnow&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=blast2021-03-26
As well, if you have not yet done so, please send an email to the provincial government calling for the END of any further exploratory work using this link: https://action.cpaws.org/page/77749/action/2
Thank you all for your help! Please spread the word around and get as many people as possible to send these emails, as they will be decisive in preventing our Rocky Mountains and our water supplies from being destroyed and contaminated (respectively).
Until next time,
