All,
Thank you so much for signing and committing to this idea that change can happen and we can do something to affect that change. I refuse to think we are helpless in determining our own fate. Our self determination is not like that of a leaf helplessly floating down a stream in whichever direction the water flows.
For those who added comments, your input has been very valuable and has added depth and heart to the letter. Thank you so much for your contribution.
The petition has been viewed over a thousand times over the last five days. Almost all of our the supporters are from Calgary. In an effort to make this a provincial issue with some clout, I kindly ask you to share this petition with your friends and family and with colleagues in other cities such as Edmonton and Fort McMurray.
These jobs we are talking about affect everyone. These are primary jobs with lots of spin off opportunities in the province.
Sharing through social media like LinkedIn has been helpful.
For those who believe change is not possible and this will not change anything so why bother. Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong, at least we tried, we won't know unless we try. I leave you with this example to linger in your mind should you question the power of being on the right side on an issue again.
