Dear ASU Alumni & Supporters,
Thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to the future of our beloved university. Your courage in standing up for what’s best for Albany State is inspiring. Because of your efforts, the legacy of ASU will be preserved, and our future remains bright.
Now, we need you to take another bold step. We ask that you send a personal email to Chancellor Sonny Perdue, urging him to ensure that the presidential selection process for ASU is both rigorous and transparent. It is crucial that we do not simply appoint the current interim president as the permanent leader, but instead, select a qualified candidate who will serve the best interests of our university.
Below is a sample email you can copy and modify as needed. Please take a moment to send your message to all three of the email addresses listed below by Friday, December 6, 2024 at 5 PM EST.
Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference in shaping the future of Albany State University.
Thank you again for your continued support.

SUBJECT: ASU PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH
Dear Chancellor Sonny Perdue,
I hope this message finds you well. I am an alum and long-time supporter of Albany State University, and I am writing to express my thoughts regarding the presidential selection process. My hope is that the process will be both thorough and transparent, ultimately selecting a leader who is highly qualified, deeply committed to our students, and centered on building strong relationships with alumni, donors, and faculty alike.
As an institution with a proud legacy, Albany State deserves a president who will inspire confidence and bring lasting, positive change. It is essential that the selection process yields a permanent president with a proven track record—someone who is well-equipped to lead our university forward. Appointing another interim president would, in my view, continue a pattern that has not served the university well.
We owe it to Albany State and its future to ensure that the next president is someone who will truly elevate the institution and unite all of us in support of its success.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Best regards,
