I'm so thankful for all of your support towards this effort to change the name of Suicide Peak to Yuyanq' Ch'ex.  I want to let you all know that we've reached around 1200 signatures already.  This evening, I turned in the official paperwork to the State of Alaska for this name change.  We will continue to gather signatures and "key" support letters until the Alaska Historical Commission meets to decide on the change sometime this winter.  The Alaska Historical Commission will send out notices to Anchorage residence near Suicide Peaks and other interested organizations.  If there are no serious objections...it'll be done.  I will keep you posted.  For now...THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!  Also, Carry the Cure is producing a video from the event hike (8-29-20) up Yuyanq' Ch'ex called Rise Above It.  It should be released soon.  Afterwards, it will be sent to schools throughout Alaska and throughout the world to inspire them to Rise Above depression, hurt, unforgiveness and suicide. (www.youcanriseaboveit.org Here's a picture from the hike!  Pictured below is Nick Hanson (Eskimo Ninja), myself and Jeri D'Aurelio's (Ninja Warrior) dog on the S. Yuyanq' Ch'ex ridge just below the summit.
