Save Net Neutrality and Secure Bitcoin's Future

This petition had 33 supporters

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) intends to go ahead with a vote on Dec. 14 to repeal the net neutrality rules. Should you be paying more money to gain access to certain websites? No. Net Neutrality is the principle that all Internet Service Providers (ISP) should treat all data on the internet fairly and equally. There are certain ISP's who wish to treat the internet as a premium service, where they will block, throttle, or even charge for access to certain domains. This is not how the internet should be treated. When paying for access to the internet, you should receive universal and equal access to all websites at the speed you choose to pay for.

With the increasing success of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, ISP’s will use the repeal of net neutrality to prevent customers from accessing bitcoin exchanges or charge them a premium to do so. The key factors of a cryptocurrency’s success are its ability to store value and transfer that value anonymously across the network quickly and with minimal fees. Without net neutrality ISP’s will have more control over your information and increase the cost of using cryptocurrencies to the point where it will prohibit market cap growth. Bitcoin can continue to innovate and transform the way we perform monetary transactions, but it needs the freedom to do so.

So please, take the time to sign this petition and support a free and open internet that will ensure the continued success of Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies!
