Still In Jail: Sign to Free Three Indigenous Labrador Land Protectors, Including 79-Year-old Elder

Jul 29, 2017 — Jul 29, 2017 — Please SIGN AND SHARE this urgent action petition to free three Indigenous Labrador Land Protectors jailed on July 21. We will deliver this petition to Ottawa on July 31. Inuk Elder James Learning (aged 79) and Eldred Davis (both of NunatuKavut) and Marjorie Flowers (Nunatsiavut) were jailed for trying to stop the poisoning and drowning of their people at the Muskrat Falls project. They are part of a larger group (including a journalist) facing ongoing, serious court proceedings for their nonviolent actions.

The Labrador Land Protectors are on the front line of a serious battle, one reflected in ongoing struggles across Turtle Island. They need our support, and we need to listen to their voices and join in actions to support and walk with them (the federal government has provided over $6 billion in loan guarantees to this dangerous project). Signing and sharing this petition is one step. Others will follow.

Thank you
