I just wanted to post another update to inform you that we have hit 1,000 signatures for this petition!
Thank you to everybody who felt motivated to make your voices heard! Over the past 2 weeks and some change, we have heard from many of you, and I would like to take this moment to recognize some of your comments.

Permanent closure of the place where these 2 deaths occurred is vital.
The cozy relationship of Private Equity with this "troubled teen industry" is highly suspect and probably should be illegal. Why anyone is allowed to profit off of incarcerating children charged with no crime is beyond the pale and a morally bankrupt business." - Pamela Jones

"I am a survivor of Trails Carolina and was left traumatized and with PTSD. Very little therapy actually happens here. The staff have very little training. Children struggling with mental illnesses are systematically broken down all in the name of building them back up which in reality never actually happens. The research that the site is from a survey that former participants are made to take, typically in another program they were sent to after, where there are strong incentives to lie since the constant threat of being sent back if you admit you aren’t better looms over you." - Alecia Beaupre

Trails Carolina MUST remain closed, and people must be made aware of the negative effects this "industry" has had on many.
