Paula Campbeau, Moses Campeau's mother, has a good idea this was a bear

"It was a bear, the only reason why the Conservation ruled out a bear was because they were not here in SCN with the RCMP and Homicide crime unit to fact find or even investigate what happened, to take measurements of the prints, to recreate a scenario based on there professional opinion. They used the results/report of the autopsy to make their statement, this statement is based from another fact finder, not their's. Sapotaweyak Cree Nation is still on guard on this matter, the small mother bear and her two cubs."

Moses was 5'11, 290 pounds. A very, very strong man 💪 A man of all trades, very skilled, helpful and respectful 💝 He was taken from us after being attacked by a bear in the dark. He fought with everything he had until the end. A vehicle came by and scared the bear off. First responders did everything they could, but his injuries were too severe and he didn't make it. If it can happen to a full-grown strong man like him, it can happen to anyone. Please take this warning seriously. Watch over our women, children, and elders.

Chief and Council have confirmed the recent death in the community was the result of a wildlife attack. Conservation has been notified and will be in the community.
Please be extra cautious:
• Do not walk around alone
• Do not let children out alone at any time
• Avoid walking around the community in the evening / night hours
• Always be aware of your surroundings
