Oleksii's bond request was denied. He is appealing soon. We hope that he and his wife will be allowed to buy a plane ticket to a safe country

They have been incarcerated for 9 months. 

Svitlana's Ice officer told her they will both be deported to Moldova or Poland to be held and shipped to Ukraine. 

This would be certain death for Oleksii and torture for Svitlana. 

They committed no crime by asking for asylum at a border crossing. But they are being treated like illegal immigrants. Nobody should be held indefinitely or told that they will be sent back to the war zone that they fled. 

Senators in Kansas, Arizona and Georgia have been unable to change the situation.
