Latest developments are that Proctor and Gamble aren't putting the ad back on so I'm going to close this petition.
I really really want to thank you all so much for signing, for sharing and doing all you did to help with this petition, we couldn't have done this without the amazing support we had from everyone. Compared to 84 complaints, we had just under 4,000 signatures, which you'd imagine should have been a factor reinstating the ad. But that and was not to be.
Something else I came across during this few weeks was a person with a platform who was looking for people post their tampons and we urge you to not do this. If you want to help effect change and have a spare few quid on you, a wonderful thing to do is post some clean, unused, unopened menstrual hygiene products to @HomelessPeriodIreland. They're an amazing and voluntary organisation who help people in all sorts of awful situations to access menstrual hygiene products. If you go to their social media, you can check the products they need or have low supplies of. With almost 4,000 signatories, if everyone sent just one product, it would be amazingly helpful to them. Period poverty is a huge problem here and you never know who might be under pressure.
I'm almost finished the blurb now, but I wanted to mention I'll be still reaching out to Tampax and P & G before the weekend about the campaign and the removal of the ad. So if there's news to share, I'll keep everyone in the loop!
Finally, my most heartfelt and grateful thanks to my dear friend Amanda Lynch, who worked so hard on this, getting signatures non stop along with constant posting. I genuinely wouldn't have wanted anyone else to chat to at the end of the day and bounce ideas we thought might work. I honestly could never have done this without you, your great ideas and constant support and encouragement. Thank you so much from the depths of my heart, I love you squillions ♥️♥️
