Our names are Naomi Piña Garcia and Samantha McGann. We are seniors at Columbia Secondary School in the Harlem area of Manhattan, New York City. We are working on a Civic Action project where we address a problem our society faces and work toward ways to fix it. We are both very passionate about getting animals the rights they deserve. Animal abuse is a huge issue and affects thousands of animals every year. Although there are currently established laws protecting these animals, the government does not enforce such laws, thus leading animal abuse to continue today with no actions being done. With this petition, we hope that you acknowledge the public opinion on having animal rights protected at a higher extent.
