At the most recent City Council meeting, the elected leadership of Lawrenceville voted 7 to 1 against adopting a city-run livestreaming program for public meetings.

Only one alderman — Dwayne Volkman — stood up for transparency and voted in favor of letting the city take responsibility for livestreaming.
The rest of the council voted to leave that responsibility solely to the public.

Let’s be clear:
📉 The cost is not the issue.
• Less than $3,000 for initial equipment
• Around $2,000 per year for a city employee to run it
• I personally offered to train a city employee for free using my own livestreaming experience

So what’s the real reason?

Why doesn’t the council want the public to see — without filters — how decisions are made?

✍️ Next Step: Door-to-Door Petition
We’re not giving up. We’re getting more organized.

I am now preparing a refined, in-person petition to present to the council. If you live within the city limits of Lawrenceville, please send me your name and address so I can stop by and gather your official signature. You can call/text me at 812-899-6267 and I will add your name to my list of people to come see.

📬 You can also volunteer to help gather signatures with me — just reach out.

This is your city. These are your tax dollars. You deserve access. You deserve accountability.

Let’s shine a light on what’s happening at City Hall — and keep building pressure until we get the transparency we deserve.
