Victory for Structured Literacy in Mountain Lakes!
I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that our petition to the Mountain Lakes Board of Education to adopt a structured literacy program at Wildwood Elementary School has been successful! After careful consideration, the district has chosen to adopt the SuperKids Reading Program for grades K-2, a structured literacy program aligned with the science of reading.
This evidence-based curriculum utilizes a scope and sequence for phonics instruction, teaches phonemic and phonological awareness, and incorporates decodable texts. According to the program’s publisher, “the SuperKids Reading Program puts research into practice to explicitly and systematically develop the parts of the brain that are used for efficient and effective reading.” “This proven-effective program follows a unique, systematic, and explicit instructional path through engaging, increasingly complex text.”
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported this initiative.
