Adobe Creative Cloud Auto Renew - Allow Customers To Turn It Off
The Issue
As annual subscribers of Adobe Creative Cloud, we acknowledge that the Creative Cloud subscription is an annual subscription; however, we also realize that if we don't pay our subscription, we are unable to use your software. We are beholden to your Terms and Conditions and have no choice but to accept them or use another piece of to manage our creative process.
- If subscribers do not cancel within a specific period of time, they are obligated to pay 50% of the remaining subscription in order to cancel as per Adobe's Subscription Terms. (see below)
- Adobe subscribers have no control over auto-renew function of their subscription. The subscription is renewed automatically without the subscriber having to take any specific action, which binds your subscribers to Adobe's Subscription Terms for yet another year.
As internet users, we are a constantly being asked to accept terms of services of different websites and software companies. These Terms of Service agreement are put in place to protect companies like Adobe while limiting the rights of the users of those services. There is no choice. We either accept those ToS, or we don't get to use any software, website, or service: anywhere.
Additionally, as a point of reference, the US CANSPAM Act of 2003 requires businesses to "Honor opt-out requests promptly" for email marketing. We feel that this should also apply subscriptions and our money.
As Adobe subscribers, we demand that we are given control over our subscriptions and given the ability to TURN OFF the Auto Renew function of your subscription services.
Do the right thing Adobe. Give your loyal clients the ability to control their finances and give then the option to TURN OFF the Auto Renew function for your subscriptions. If Microsoft can do it, so can you.
Signed,
Adobe Subscribers

Annual contract, paid monthly
Service begins as soon as your initial payment is processed. You’ll be charged the rate stated at the time of purchase, plus applicable taxes (such as value added tax when the stated rate doesn’t include VAT), every month for the duration of your annual contract. If the applicable VAT rate (or other included tax or duty) changes during your one-year term, the tax-inclusive price will adjust accordingly. Your contract will renew automatically, on your annual renewal date, until you cancel. Renewal rates are subject to change, but we’ll always notify you beforehand. If you cancel within 14 days of your order, you’ll be fully refunded. Should you cancel after 14 days, you’ll be charged 50% of your remaining contract obligation and your service will continue until the end of that month’s billing period. Cancellations can be made any time by visiting your Manage Account page or by contacting {Adobe customer service} in your region.
