Hi Everyone,
With a looming election now it's important to get this information out, there is so much focus on younger Australians and not enough on what is happening to older Australians that don't fit the profile of the wealthy "baby boomers" not everyone is able to afford their home and go caravaning around Australia, there are a lot of older Australians living in caravans and mobile homes and having to move around because of rising costs. There are more people having to stay in work longer and having to look for work because they cannot afford to live they are still renting. There are those that can't access their superannuation because they aren't old enough but they should be able to if this would help them financially. The threat by the LNP to cut the age pension is another issue. While Politicians are able to get automatic wage increases a lot of working people have to beg for these, they have indexed superannuation for the rest of their lives, but working people don't get this as an option. We need reform around being able to access superannuation and the aged pension this would help so many people from living in poverty and it's not being discussed.
