2 June 2021

As many would have seen, over the past two days our organisation and movement has amassed various media coverages in South Australian news. The news encapsulated Adelaide High school students’ perspectives and anger in regard to the culture of sexism and violence that we are protesting against. The media reached out to Principal Cez Green and the Education Department for their comment on the situation. Cez and the Department stated to both the ABC & Nine News that they “had offered to meet with protest organisers but they were yet to take up that offer”, This comment is untrue and solidifies Cez Green’s tendency to lie and push her own false narratives about the school and admins true responses to the issues being brought to public attention.

On the 27th of May, Green reached out to our group’s founder requesting a meeting. Her email was replied to on the same day only a few hours after Green had requested the meeting. Our group accepted the offer to meet, however, we did specify that we would only meet on terms that we were able to bring in an advocate to ensure we were not taken advantage of due to the student-principal dynamic. Cez Green is very much aware that we were happy and planning on meeting with her, she replied to our email saying she was “looking forward to meeting us”. We never refused to meet Cez or the Education department, in fact, a formal meeting with them was planned and we emailed Cez on Monday the 31st of May requesting a meeting be held on Wednesday morning, post-rally. We are still awaiting a reply.

The misleading information that Cez and the Department issued to the media was harmful and painted us out to be bitter and stubborn. Our media contacts have been notified that Cez supplied them with misleading and false information. We demand that Cez issues an apology immediately.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely, The Call4Action Team
