We're getting close to the launch of our big report on acid violence in Uganda! After that, we'll be meeting with members of the Ugandan Parliament to try to get their support for the bill our team has drafted!
These last few steps are going to require a lot of support, both monetary and international support/pressure for what we are proposing. The change.org community has been an AMAZING support to RISE. We're a volunteer-led organization who do this work because of our love for our friends in Uganda and our desire to make a difference in the world. Our donations come from 'average people' like you who have helped us make a difference in the lives of Faith, Joel, and many other survivors.
That's why we are reaching out to you to ask if you have connections to media who can help us get the word out about this petition. This may be:
- Someone who works for a media/news outlet who can write a story about RISE
- Someone who has access to a communication platform, like an alumni magazine, school newsletter, etc who can write an article about our petition
- Someone who is part of a list serve or group chat where they can post about our petition
- Anyone on social media who can post about the petition and ask people to sign & share it. Post this link:
- Other ideas are welcome!
