We, players from Ukraine and supporters worldwide, respectfully request the addition of the Ukrainian language to Hearts of Iron IV (HOI4) — a game that holds a special place among strategy enthusiasts in Ukraine and has a passionate and growing Ukrainian-speaking community.

Despite years of continued development, multiple language packs, and regular content updates, HOI4 still does not support Ukrainian. This is disappointing, especially considering that a community-made Ukrainian localization already exists. While it's available as a Steam Workshop mod and covers approximately 85% of the game's content (including all major DLC), a portion of the text remains outdated or translated from Russian — something the community is actively working to improve.

By officially adding Ukrainian:

• You acknowledge over 40 million speakers of the language;
• You support the efforts of a culture striving to preserve its identity through language;
• You open HOI4 to thousands of new players across Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and the Ukrainian diaspora.

We understand that implementing official localization takes time and resources. However, the Ukrainian community has already laid a strong foundation. Paradox could review and build upon the existing community translation, as a sign of respect and support.

Please consider this a genuine appeal from a loyal and engaged part of your global fanbase.

Ми, гравці з України та прихильники з усього світу, звертаємось до студії Paradox Interactive із проханням додати українську мову до гри Hearts of Iron IV (HOI4).

Ця стратегія користується великою популярністю серед українців, і наша спільнота постійно зростає. Проте, попри багаторічний розвиток гри, численні оновлення та мовні пакети, HOI4 досі не підтримує українську мову.

Особливо прикро, що фанатський переклад уже існує: мод української локалізації доступний у майстерні Steam і охоплює приблизно 85% усієї гри з урахуванням DLC. Частина текстів усе ще потребує оновлення або покращення — деякі фрагменти були колись перекладені з російської, однак українська спільнота активно працює над виправленнями.

Додавання української мови:

• стане визнанням понад 40 мільйонів носіїв української;
• підтримає культуру та ідентичність народу, який бореться за своє майбутнє;
• відкриє HOI4 для тисяч нових гравців в Україні та за її межами.

Ми усвідомлюємо, що офіційна локалізація потребує ресурсів. Проте фанатська база вже зробила значну частину роботи, і цим перекладом можна скористатись як основою для подальшого вдосконалення.

Це щирий заклик від вірної та активної частини вашої світової аудиторії.
