We are SO excited to share with you all that our Senate Bill (SB490) is being seen during the Senate Education Committee meeting on Tuesday, January 18th at 11AM. Join us in addressing our Senators at the Knott Building in Tallahassee, FL for a day of legislative advocacy and meetings with our lawmakers. If you are interested in attending or may know someone who may be, please have them fill out this form for further instruction and details regarding this event.
If you are unable to attend, we still highly encourage you all to use your voice as a Florida citizen and waive your appearance in support of SB490. To do this, you must complete the Senate Public Appearance Form and send it to Committee Staff Director, Michael Bouck: Bouck.Matthew@flsenate.gov to be shared during the meeting.
We are at a crucial stage of the bill. Please continue to advocate for HB281 to our House Representatives and those who sit in the Education Committee + Subcommittees (Early Learning, Secondary Education, & Post Secondary Education).
Thanks to the tireless outreach from our volunteers and supporters, we were able to solicit bipartisan support of 9 Representatives in the House. However, the fight is far from over! KEEP SENDING emails, phone calls, and voice messages to ensure that HB281 does not die before it is seen on the House Floor. If you contacted them, contact again! This is our last chance to get the bill to phase 2... we have a long way to go and need your help to get us there!
Please use our toolkit as a guideline.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Mimi
