The Ask About Care initiative was presented to the Orange County Legislative Delegation to bring attention to this important grassroots effort ahead of the 2026 legislative session in Tallahassee.

This caregiver health initiative proposes a simple but powerful systemic change, adding the question “Are you a caregiver for a loved one?” to physician intake forms, hospital checklists, and pharmacy screenings across Florida.

By identifying caregivers early, the initiative aims to:

• Improve caregiver and patient health outcomes
• Reduce healthcare costs through preventive care
• Strengthen support systems for Florida’s 2.7 million family caregivers
• 
  The presentation encouraged lawmakers to consider policy pathways and partnerships that can position Florida as a national leader in caregiver health and recognition.
