Today people from all over the country have descended on Washington, D.C. for the anniversary of the March On Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech. This year’s action is called the Commitment March, and was announced by Rev. Al Sharpton during George Floyd's memorial. Attendees are coming together to demand police accountability, and to mobilize voters for racial justice.
So far over 5,000 people have called Colorado lawmakers to demand justice for Elijah this week and I am in awe. Our campaign is part of this national conversation around ending racist police brutality, and fighting for a world where Black people can be safe and free. In honor of the march, will you make a call right now?
57 years ago Dr. King had a dream. Today a young Black man can be killed and his killers allowed to walk free for 365 days – and counting.
