The US can't let this deal happen between the Chinese and the Bahamians. We need to protect our natural resources and invest in our neighbors collaboratively. Commercial fishing for conch, lobster, snapper and grouper are mainstays of the Andros Island's economy. However, the indication is that the Chinese firms want to target dolphin, Kingfish, Marlin, Tuna and Wahoo. This will disrupt the Pelagic pattern and ruin fishing as we know it today. This very well could be the GREATEST THREAT we could see to the Bahamas as we know it in this generation. We the sport-fishing community, will need to summon all our voices to get the U.S. and Bahamian Governments together and preserve our natural resources.
