Update on petition to Actors Equity Association

Dear supporters, After multiple attempts on my part to engage, the AEA still has not responded to this petition. I encourage all of you to repost this petition on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media to increase the number of signatures and continue to put pressure on the AEA to respond. After a recent EMC teleconference with the NY, Chicago, and LA offices, there was a Q&A session. I stood before the podium and expressed my disappointment with the way in which this was handled, and my frustration with the fact that a petition with over 600 signatures had still not received a response six months on. A Chicago representative claimed that the problem was an IT issue, a statement to which I and others expressed some level of skepticism. Following this meeting, I received a message from the Outreach Director, who informed me that this was the first time that the AEA had heard about the petition, despite the fact that I had emailed the Membership department on multiple occasions, receiving no response. I was referred then to the Western Councilor in LA, who has been in charge of this change in audition procedures. I have been corresponding with him several weeks now, but still have not received concrete answers as to why we have not received a response from AEA, or even if the AEA is planning to respond. Therefore, I would ask you to continue to keep the pressure on, and continue to forward this petition on to other actors so that we can continue to collect support. I will continue in my discussions with AEA as to when we can expect a response and what, if anything, is being done to remedy the situation. Thank you again for your support. Best, Steve
