SUPER GIVEN GO-AHEAD TO DECIDE GRADING POLICY AFTER COMMITTEE SUSPENDS POLICY REQUIRING STUDY

Last night, as expected, the Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committee gave its school superintendent the authority to move ahead to make his final decision on any change to the grading policy for the third quarter/spring semester without having to await the completion of a cooperative study of parents, teachers and administrators first.  The Superintendent said he will do a parent survey on options for either pass-no pass or some options that will give some kind of letter grade credit for third quarter for some or all students.

It looks like either pass-no pass or some version of pass-no pass, with a minor tweak to appease those who believe some kind of letter grades will help their kids, wiill indeed be the final result. But now is the time to keep the pressure on, to make sure we get the right result, and that we get it soon. And so, send in your emails, if you haven't already, to plight@abschools.org and keep sharing this petition to get more signatures!
