Yorktown is where the everlasting principles of The Declaration became actionable for this new kind of nation. Like God's Providential Hand along the banks of the Red Sea, Yorktown was also a Miracle. However, this Truth is largely unknown these days... unappreciated, even forgotten entirely. Two weeks ago, my daughters and I walked through those sacred grounds; I could feel the tortures of battle as well as the joys in the ultimate triumph... but only when I closed my eyes and imagined.  (The new photo is of my youngest walking with me through the Yorktown battlefield.)

Tragically, the National Park's presentation of the Miracle of Yorktown is painfully lacking; in fact, if I hadn't already known what had taken place there, I would never have figured out even the basic narrative. More importantly, my children would have learned nothing meaningful nor enduring from our visit. To be clear, I do not fault Yorktown’s employees; they have clearly been working on a razor thin budget for many decades. This reality is the travesty.  Our politicians are constantly spending our tax money with such carelessness, even flippancy. And yet, the place where America found her very existence has been set aside... ignored... and has become just a faint relic from history. Why have we allowed this to happen?

Still, there is good news: This shameful wrong can quickly be righted... to the benefit of every single American... and for the edification and illumination of the entire world. And so, I hereby volunteer to lay out the comprehensive plan for Yorktown's rightful restoration. Why me? For starters, no one else has stepped forward; I have never even heard someone complain about it. Secondly, I know how to accomplish the goal... vividly. I would make Yorktown an experiential adventure... just as I did with ProjectAmericanLife.com   Friends, not only can Yorktown become an immersion into the wonders and triumphs of those astonishing days, it could also be a flagship site for the national mission of Project American Life: "Where America's Founding Principles Come to Life!" In fact, I can't think of a better pairing: "Where our Founding Patriots give rise to new ones!"

Some may think this idea is pointless, even impossible. Interestingly, that's what many once thought about America's chances against England. In truth, compared to the Miracle of Yorktown, this present mission is actually highly probable. In fact, Yorktown could be the national treasure it should be... a must-see destination for all Americans... a Remembrance and an Inspiration for all who walk her sacred grounds... all within one year!  And clearly, the Restoration of Yorktown pairs perfectly with the bill to "Restore Our American Republic (ROAR)!   Yes, now is the time for the American Story to resonate loudly from sea to shining sea... and especially along the banks of Yorktown!  May ancient Visions be born anew in the hearts, souls and minds of coming generations!
