Tackling Absent Fathers
Dec 30, 2017
Dear All, We are delighted to announce that we have reached another milestone and now have over 200 signatures supporting our campaign. #tacklingabsentfathers We appreciate and thank you for sharing your reasons for signing, as more importantly than signatures we want to ensure that Action against Absent Fathers is necessary and that the impact it has on the child is recognised as an immoral act and injustice to single mothers. We also want to make it clear that in no way do we dismiss some of the unfortunate circumstances of why a father is absent, ie, Parental Alienation; however, 'Parental Alienation' is increasingly being recognised as a form of child abuse in the family courts and any parent found guilty of such behaviour may be deemed as a punishable offence. Our campaign is aimed at the Absent Father and it needs to be highlighted in society, that there are men who have open access to their child but simply refuse to be responisble for them, with no fault of the mothers. The irresponsible father who tend to be serial fathers and abandon multiple women. The father who gets up one day and decides he no longer wants to be responsible for the child that he created. The father who is able to be a parent but choses not to. The type of father who former MP David Cameron described in his campaign back in 2011 (see article attached) Please continue to support our campaign by sharing with others so we can have that much needed conversation with parliment, on how this issue will be best tackled.
