In an interview with martin Lewis, Rachael Reeves has made a commitment that in this Parliament, those who only have a state pension will not have to pay tax on it. 

I truly believe that by signing the petition, along with all those who contacted their MPs, you have had an enormous impact on bringing the issue of tax on state pensions onto the Government radar. Nobody was talking about this, or actively addressing the issue before.  

Well done and thank you to everyone who took action and continue to share the petition.  We must keep a close eye on how far Government are prepared to commit into the future but for now, the commitment is no tax on state pension during this Parliament.
