LLLI dissolves HAC

La Leche League International has recently advised that the Board of Directors of LLLI has dissolved the Health Advisory Council, thereby removing both Dr. Ruth Lawrence and Dr. Paula Meier from their formal advisory positions, along with the rest of the members of the Health Advisory Council. We look forward to LLLI creating a policy which prevents the appointment of those who undermine breastfeeding to advisory and honorary in the future. The outcome of ABM's review of Dr. Ruth Lawrence's honorary and board position is still pending. We urge petitioners to keep up the pressure and not allow this issue to fade without clear public action to protect breastfeeding against the baby feeding industry's attempts to undermine it.
