Lovely yesterday for Claire to have her first "ground leave" which meant we spent the whole 2 hours of visiting outside in glorious sunshine, where she was able to hold and cwtch Jonjo, and take him for walks around the ground - something she hasn't been able to do since July 31st despite doing it daily prior to that....... We sat and watched her, not worried at all that she would run as we could see how happy she was, and how grateful she was at being allowed something that makes her so happy - a little bit of freedom. She had a lovely time with us, and it was great to see her, Nicola and Andrew sitting on a bench and just happily having fun "sibling" time together - something that they all miss after spending most days together before she was sent so far away. She had made us all pretty colourings, and wanted to chat about everything she could. She loves the visits, and wishes as we do, that they were far more than 2 hours weekly - after spending every day bar 2 with us in July, it just seems stupid how we have to travel a 10 hour round trip to see our beautiful daughter for just 2 hours when previously she was in the home environment and community WITHOUT SUPPORT every day........and now she is in a medium secure unit 5 hours away......it just makes no sense at all. Doing Race for life in Swansea 5 days before being moved, having meals out all through July, visiting the box she was supposed to be in for the Villarreal game even the day BEFORE she was moved - as well as having her glasses tightened in Specsavers Swansea, walking through the centre of Swansea and bumping into friends and having a lovely day at home with us. We also went to Cardiff trampolining, and swimming in the LC2 and with the NAS group in Bridgend. She came shopping with her sister and myself, and used self scanners in Tesco which she loved, and for walks along Swansea sea front with her beloved Jonjo. No incidents during any of these days out with us, just pure happiness and fun, where she was safe and relaxed. We love you Claire, and will keep petitioning and campaigning for you - we certainly don't believe that being locked up is what is best for you, especially after we, your grandparents, friends, and loads of other people KNOW how happy you are whilst with us, and in the community you love, and doing the activities you enjoy and know. You certainly don't deserve what is happening to you. Xxx
