In memory of former Aberdeen FC player and Hartlepool United FC manager Neale Cooper, there should be a pre-season friendly between the two clubs. Cooper was highly respected and much loved amongst supporters. With Aberdeen he lifted the European Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup and was considered a 'Gothenburg Great'. With Hartlepool, he managed them over two separate spells. Taking the club to the play-off final of the Second Division. Having the two clubs play each other in a pre-season friendly would be a fitting tribute to bring the supporters together in his memory.
