Thanks for signing the Texas AAUP petition advocating for academic freedom, tenure, shared governance, and student affordability in institutions of public higher education in Texas.

The Legislative Outreach Team at Texas AAUP has discussed the petition with 20 of the 181 Texas Legislators and/or their staff -- see stories about our advocacy with Texas AFT and advocacy with TACT -- as well as several media outlets. 

The Texas Legislature is in high gear with the session ending May 29th, and we really need your help!  More than 20 bills have been filed in the Texas Legislature to eliminate tenure, restrict academic freedom, ban diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices, and attack other higher ed values.  It's an all-hands-on-deck situation right now.
