BOARD of SUPERVISORS HEARING
Tuesday July 9th @ 9am
Neighbors for Los Osos UPDATE:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Please attend the hearing tomorrow! We have a good chance of getting this permit denied based on the proximity of two short-term vacation rentals being placed side by side in Baywood Park. This permit does not comply to the Los Osos short-term vacation rental Guidelines. (See website for the Guidelines: Density Control details)
The meeting starts at 9AM, we are at the top of the hearing items, so they should get to us rather quickly, so please arrive before 9AM. Closest Parking structures are on Palm St.
For those of you who plan to speak, when you arrive fill out short with your name and hearing item number. Speakers are limited to 3 minutes. Bring a copy of your letter to submit if you haven't already. Even if you just get up and say you support your neighbors, and would like them to deny the permit, go for it!
The meeting is in the Supervisors’ Chambers
New Government Center
1055 Monterey Street Suite D430
San Luis Obispo
The agenda has been posted on the Board of Supervisors website. We will be heard first thing in the morning on July 9th.

Please attend the hearing, let's fill the room with a caring community!
Thank you all for your support!
Here’s a few topics you may want to communicate in your letters:
1. Density control
2. The importance of preserving our limited housing stock. State and local housing crisis, building moratorium, no growth town, no recovery from loss of converting a home, losing full time residents to visitors, short term vacation rentals drive up housing prices, they hurt residents, schools, churches, and businesses.
3. Preserve character of our neighborhoods, loss of community
4. Short term renters do not have a stake in the community, nor do out of town owners have a stake in our community, as in the case of 670 Santa Lucia (Santa Barbara County)
5. It may be several years until the Guidelines are in place as ordinance, until then our neighborhoods are at risk. The county’s pattern of permitting all vacation rentals no matter the location, if continued, will impact the integrity of the fabric of our community. It’s about preserving Residential Single Family neighborhoods, short term vacation rentals are a Secondary Use.
6. The Los Osos short-term vacation rental Guidelines (see website for details)
