John Nicolson MP’s Bill (Sexual Offences (Pardons etc) will be read out and discussed first time in the House this Friday. Please ask your MP to support this private member's bill. Details: The Sexual Offences (Pardons etc.) Bill sponsored by John Nicolson MP which aims to right the historical wrongs of the persecution and conviction of gay and bisexual men for consensual gay sex, by issuing a blanket pardon for such offences, and which also makes it easier for men affected by these past laws to have their convictions physically removed from their criminal record. The offences specified in the bill are those under (a) section 12 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956 (buggery), (b) section 13 of that Act (gross indecency between men), (d) section 32 of that Act (importuning another for immoral purposes), or (c) section 61 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861 or section 11 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 (corresponding earlier offences). THIS petition will be delivered to no 10 Downing Street TO THE PRIMEMINISTER on Wednesday 2 November at 3PM.
