WA Dept. of Sports & Recreation (DSR) Steps Up and Shows Leadership

Today marks a turning point in the campaign for a safe raceway for motorcycles. The DSR has advised circuit management it is in their best interests to cease all motorcycle activities. The Management acted quickly and motorcycle events have been postponed until further notice. The independent Engineer's safety audit confirmed what many of us know. The track is unsafe for motorcycles. The report identified areas of "extreme risk" and "high risk" for motorcycle riders. I understand it also identifies some parts are dangerous for cars. Next week I'm being given the opportunity to review the report and provide comments to DSR and the Minister for Sport & Recreation.
