Safety Review Definitely Underway

It's underway. Dept of Sport & Rec. (DSR) have prepared the terms of reference and a brief. It's been issued to several Consulting Engineers. The responses are due tomorrow 8 July. DSR will evaluate the Engineers submissions and appoint one to undertake the safety audit. I'm guessing the evaluation period will be about two weeks and they'll give the Engineer four weeks to visit the site, inspect and follow up with a detailed report and preliminary drawings showing what changes are needed to make the place safe for motorcyclists. My estimate is a report being submitted to DSR about the end of August. I'd be very surprised if the result isn't a recommendation for substantial changes. I've just returned from Sepang Malaysia for two days training on a proper international standard safe motorcycle circuit. The circuit is also used for F1 and many car racing series. The two sports can co exist. I made a short 4 minute on board video to show you what a safe motorcycle track looks like. I've never felt safer when riding this track. There's nothing to hit.
