Dear Supporters

It has been barely 30 days since we launched this campaign and it is clear how much ground we have covered. My goal from the very beginning was to ensure that the protection of Londons Heroes did not die in bureaucracy and I am thrilled to announce a historic success today. It is incredible that in just 30 days we have managed to take this petition to the highest levels of power.

Here are the facts and milestones of our shared fight:

• Continuing the legislative initiative of Kieran Mullan: We must remember the foundation of this case. It was Kieran Mullan MP who first officially called in Parliament for legislative change to close the loophole in the law and protect heroes like Mark Hehir. I took up this challenge as a continuation of his efforts ensuring that this proposal was not pushed aside and that public pressure remained constant.

• The crucial Motion by Keith Prince AM: A major turning point was the Motion tabled by Keith Prince in City Hall. It was his initiative and determination that led the London Assembly to unanimously call on the Mayor and Transport for London to take immediate action. This Motion gave our case official political weight and became the formal basis for our fight for justice.

• Targeting the Government and the Ministry of Justice: Thanks to our collective pressure this matter has reached the highest level of government. Elly Baker AM of the Labour Party has officially written to David Lammy MP the Secretary of State for Justice. This is a direct response to the need to close the loophole in the law that Mullan identified. It means that the Good Samaritan clause we are fighting for is now being analysed by the British Government.

• A United London: We have secured official support from key leaders including Susan Hall AM who has also signed up to our mission. The fact that politicians from such different backgrounds are speaking with one voice proves that the safety of Londoners is a priority that transcends party lines.

This is not a bystander position; it is about the real actions we have taken together. Looking at this through the lens of the law I have studied I can see that we are creating a new legal reality. What began in Parliament with Kieran Mullan has now through our petition and mobilisation in City Hall become a real legislative process on the Justice Secretarys desk.

Thank you for every one of the 300 plus signatures. The fact that we reached the Ministry of Justice in just 30 days is your achievement. I will not let this topic disappear until the law finally protects those who step up to help.

Please share this update. Together we are stronger than any political machine.

Yours sincerely
