VET in Schools - DESE Skills Reform Feedback Form - Have your say!

K OMelbourne, Australia
23 Feb 2022

Dear VET in Schools (VETiS) campaign supporters,

I wanted to alert you to the fact that the federal government, Department of Education Skills and Employment (DESE), is currently looking for VET in Schools Stakeholder feedback as part of a national strategy to improve VET in Schools offerings.

This is your chance to tell the government how to improve VETiS!

If you can find 5 minutes in your busy day, please complete the feedback form and PLEASE remember to say something about:

  1. The desperate shortage of qualified VET teachers to teach VET in Schools programs;
  2. That the nation urgently needs a strategy to roll out undergraduate Initial Teacher Educaiton (ITE) programs for vocationally qualified and industry experienced people (e.g. tradespeople, craftspeople, musicians, etc) to become qualified VET secondary-teachers for schools - on an equal footing with regular teachers; and
  3. That without suitably qualified VET teachers for schools, programs close, the quality of education suffers, and young Australians will suffer the consequences.

This link will take you to the Stakeholder Feedback Form

Thanks again for all your support with this campaign and I will be sure to update you with its progress during 2022.

Regards,
