Those of us who gave followed Pakistan and it's support for Kashmir are always questioning why certain things aren't done. Pakistan always remains tight lipped on the responses probably hoping these questions will disappear. It won't. This week, Pakistan pledged to support Kashmir diplomatically. In the past we have asked why Gaza was considered by the UNSC and why Kashmir remained an outlier on its own.
This week the US has approached the UNSC over Venezuela. We ask the question again, Kashmir is in an emergency situation, why isn't Pakistan or the UN Secretary General approaching the UNSC. Will everyone remain silent on this again? Will Kashmir be left to it's own devices with civilians being killed and militancy going out of control.
Pakistan won't respond to this question much like it doesn't respond to its failure to apply to the ICJ. It will remain quiet on these points while claiming to offer diplomatic support. Kashmir deserves better from the Foreign Office in Pakistan. While Imran Khan has tried to be pro-active, his Foreign Office is nothing but a show master. Says all the great things but actually does very little in the world of accountability.
